HydroSkin is excited to announce our Vitamin A Serum, an anti-aging essential!
Vitamin A thickens and stimulates the dermis, the layer of skin where collagen and elastin are produced and increases blood flow to the surface of the skin. Vitamin A is the ultimate ingredient to combat fine lines and reduces wrinkles. It also has antioxidant properties and serves as a skin exfoliator.
Understanding the difference between Vitamin A skincare ingredients can be confusing, but it doesn’t have to be! Vitamin A is a highly efficacious topical skin ingredient that has a family of compounds known as Retinoids.
Let’s breakdown a few individuals in the Retinoid family tree:
Retinoic acid, also known as tretinoin or Retin-A
& Hydroxpinacolone Retinoate (HPR)
Retinol is dependent upon enzymes in the skin to convert it into retinoic acid. The conversion rate is slow, therefore it is not very effective on skin.
Hydroxpinacolone Retinoate, like Retin-A does not need to be converted by enzymes in the skin to work, it is “direct acting”. HRP and Retin-A work the same way, but the advantage of HPR is that it is much less irritating to the skin.
HPR is a new, advanced generation of Vitamin A and we are ecstatic to be using it in our Vitamin A Serum.
Benefits of Hydroxpinacolone Retinoate – Vitamin A:
Reduces fine lines & wrinkles
Stimulates collagen production
Defends against thinning skin
Exfoliates – making skin smooth and even-toned
